Russia says it will not renew arms agreement with U.S.

Quote:
Russia will not renew a decades-old agreement with Washington on dismantling nuclear and chemical weapons when it expires next year, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov was quoted as saying on Wednesday.
The death of the 1991 agreement, which had been renewed twice, is the latest in a series of hitches in relations between the United States and Russia and casts doubt on the future of the much-vaunted "reset" in relations between the Cold War-era foes.

"The basis of the program is an agreement of 1991 which, by virtue of the time when it was conceived, the way it was worked out and prepared, does not meet very high standards. The agreement doesn't satisfy us, especially considering new realities," Interfax quoted him as saying.

U.S. Senator Richard Lugar, a veteran disarmament campaigner, was in Moscow in August to push for the renewal of the program, known as the Nunn-Lugar Cooperative Threat Reduction program, which he helped launch.
The project, intended to dismantle nuclear and chemical weapons in the former Soviet Union, was last ratified by Russia in 2006 and is due to expire in 2013. Aides said it had resulted in the deactivation of more than 7,650 strategic warheads.

Ryabkov said that Russia now had the finances to carry out its own programs and that Moscow was interested in continuing partnerships in third countries.
During his trip to Moscow Lugar said he had brought up the idea of Moscow and Washington working together to reduce Syria's chemical weapons stockpiles, though he said response to the idea had been cool.
A number of bilateral agreements including the latest START nuclear arms treaty, put in force in February 2011, have built the foundation for the U.S.-Russia "restart" initiated by Washington when President Barack Obama took office in 2008.

That treaty lowers the ceilings on stocks of long-range weapons.

But recently ties have been strained, most notably by Moscow's decision to close the office of the U.S. Agency for International Development in Moscow, which critics say is part of a broader Kremlin crackdown on pro-democracy groups.

Good job on that "reset" Barack. Sucking up to Russia and caving into their every demand (and even giving up stuff they didn't demand), has made our relationship with them worse.

Nobody likes a weakling.

no, nobody wants to deal with a bunch of crazy war mongers who think that the last day is coming and their god will save them.
nobody wants to deal with notorious deal breakers and liars.
nobody wants to deal with terrorist supporters.

And that is why Russia doesn't want to deal with the USA anymore.

Btw - the republicans are to blame for your dead liybian diplomat - who would have thought so.... their demands of cutting back security expenses killed the guy. Well done.

Where'd you get that one? This week's issue of US Democrat Party's Talking Points (How to cover up Obama's horrible failures by blaming the GOP)?

Bullshit.

You're asking people to believe that Republican whining couldn't stop Obama from deplying an entire Carrier Battle Group and squadrons of Air Force fighters, to bomb the shit out of Libya for months in a row, at a cost of billions and billions of dollars, but that it did somehow magically stop him from putting a few squads of Marines on the ground?

Bullshit.

The truth is that the naive-ass, non-military-stuff-comprehending Obama Administration wanted to minimize the uniformed military presence in Libya, and it stupidly and naively relied upon indigenous military forces for security of the embassy and its personnel.

When the chips were down, those indigenous forces fired a few shots in the air and got out of the way (in a coordinated fashion, as though on order), allowing the terrorists to obliterate our embassy and kill our ambassador and three others.

At first, the Obama Administration tried to deny that it was even a terrorist attack, proclaiming it to have been a riot resulting from that video that had been on youtube for months (and they did this despite statements from the State Department to the contrary, and the State Department still say they never said it was anything other than a terrorist attack). Now the Obama Administration is desperately telling even more lies to cover it's incompetent, lie-spewing ass.

What a ridiculous load of crap.

Good. Now we're free to deploy the Defense Shield.

Let me add dyed-in-the-wool conservative (AKA learning-disabled) thieves in Nazi-style world police uniforms.

Have you noticed nobody even listens to you anymore? It's like some cricket chirping in the background. Nobody even notices.

"Okay, I read that post, I answered that post, I read that post, skip another wildhorse penis-envy blurt, read that post, read that post, oh here's a new one..."
