Hi. I'm trying to install gentoo on my lenovo s205 box, and I think I cannot get without some help.
I guess I did everything except installing boot loader. s205 use UEFI firmware but I don't think I need GPT.
So I made mbr partitions.
Code: |
root@bodhi:/# fdisk -l /dev/sda
Disk /dev/sda: 500.1 GB, 500107862016 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60801 cylinders, total 976773168 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00002895
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 2048 411647 204800 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 411648 8800255 4194304 82 Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/sda3 8800256 176572415 83886080 83 Linux
/dev/sda4 176572416 976773167 400100376 83 Linux

and I emerged grub:2 not using "efi-64". grub2-install and grub2-mkconfig did not make error.
Code: |
bodhi / # grub2-install --no-floppy /dev/sda
Installation finished. No error reported.
bodhi / # grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
Generating grub.cfg ...
done

Then I rebooted, but grub could not print a single letter on the screen. It is pure blank black screen.
Did I something wrong?
Thank you for your reading my poor English writings. :-/ |
