Hi all,
I am having trouble booting up after installing from the amd64 min install CD on an hp z620. I can't seem to figure out what I am missing. The kernel starts to boot and hangs on a message like:

( I apologize - I am at home right now, I am going sort of off memory, but I will try to go in tomorrow to work on this - I am just trying to get aheaed)
My initial strategy was to try and figure out what the install CD was doing and replicate it in my kernel config using lspci -k and then making sure all those modules were included. Unfortunately, lsmod isn't real helpful because it looks like every module under the sun is loaded by the install CD. Any other suggestions for figuring out what pieces the install CD are being used that I am missing in my kernel? Another thought is I am using grub2. Could that be the problem? It seems to me like I should be able to get a working setup if the install CD can boot, I just can't figure out what I am missing, and apparently not a lot of people have tried this on a z620 since my web searches turns up next to nothing. I am pretty sure I have all the right ATA/SATA/etc. modules loded because it isn't a kernel panick.
Any suggestions on how I could figure out what pieces from the install CD are being used so I can build a working kernel / system would be much appreciated. I really don't want to end up having to use some rpm/deb/blah based distro. They drive me batty.

Thanks - I did that the first time through - kernel drivers were not the problem. I was following the x86_64 handbook:
Device Drivers --->
Generic Driver Options --->
[*] Maintain a devtmpfs filesystem to mount at /dev
[ ] Automount devtmpfs at /dev, after the kernel mounted the rootfs
I did checked the first part, but I also needed the second. After I checked both options, it started to go.
