Upon trying to emerge libdrm, it crashes every time at the same point, just after checking for pkg-config. Here is the error:

Code:
checking for i686-pc-linux-gnu-pkg-config... no
checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes
checking for PTHREADSTUBS... configure: error: Package requirements (pthread-stu
bs) were not met:

No package 'pthread-stubs' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables PTHREADSTUBS_CFLAGS
and PTHREADSTUBS_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to fix this? I've installed a number of Gentoo boxes in the past, but this is the first time I've done it in a VM, and I'm wondering if it's got something to do with that.

Never mind, guys. In frustration, I blew away the install and rebuilt from scratch.

Seems to be working properly now...

Ok, it's long time ago. But I stumbled into the same problem. The solution is described here:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-896624-highlight-.html

Code:
emerge -C glib dev-util/pkgconfig virtual/pkgconfig
emerge -1 glib

Then I was able to compile libdrm.
