PostPosted: Tue Oct 02, 2012 9:09 am    Post subject: Christie's Message to Obama: "Stop Lying, Mr. President Reply with quote

Quote:
As New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie made the Sunday talk show rounds, “This Week’s” George Stephanopoulos confronted him with a portion of President Obama’s recent two-minute-long ad, being that they don’t have time to run the Aeneid on TV:
Quote:
“Gov. Romney believes that with even bigger tax cuts for the wealthy and fewer regulations on Wall St., all of us will prosper. In other words, he’d double down on the same trickle-down policies that led to the crisis in the first place.”

If Christie were on stage at Wednesday night’s debate, how would he respond, Stephanopoulos asked. “Stop lying, Mr. President.”

“Lying?!” an incredulous Stephanopoulos gasped. “What’s the lie there?”

Christie defends Romney’s tax plan by explaining, as Romney has, that tax rates would go down while deductions would be removed. Stephanopoulos may want to check the Washington Post, which awarded Obama’s declaration on “trickle-down policies that led to the crisis in the first place,” Three Pinnocchios, concluding “[i]t’s time for Obama to retire this talking point.”

... more

yeah, it's misleading. but, I hope you weren't expecting truth in advertising.

It's a pretty crazy system now. Take the tax system for example. It is so complex, that it is hard to evaluate the claims of either candidate on whether rates will go up or down. It really does take a tax policy org to do it. and of course the complexity lead to competing claims leaving your average joe confused.

expect more.

you tax system certainly needs simplifying.

Christie is obviously having, er, a whale of a time attacking Obama but it's kind of funny to hear an aggressive, anything-goes bigot complain about other people lying.

To be fair, he is a wonderful dancer though.

There are two aspect to taxes; what most of us think they are for (utility and altruistic) and what are they currently used for (wealth transfer). That has to be addressed before addressing rates.

The other issue this gets lumped in with, which has to be separated, is issue of unregulated vs regulated capitalism, which in essence has nothing to do with taxes. It has to do with the fact that corporate mandate as such is psychopathic, it dehumanizes humans, and destroys the environment that we are part of (like shitting in our living room, in search of depraved egoistical bliss).

Two separate issues, that government somehow lumps together and makes even bigger mess out of. The end result is that corporate mandate remains not only unchecked, but fueled by wealth transfer disguised as taxation with altruistic goal.

This is the policy that Obama basically continued (it started long before him, he is merely the latest incarnation of the conduit), and therefore, everything Obama says can be disregarded as same old bullshit. In my opinion, he has no credibility left whatsoever, but that doesn't say that Romney has, since he is not addressing issue either. Most likely, if elected, he will be just another conduit.

The article is less about the issue of taxes and more about the fact that Obama lies, all the fucking time. If his lips are moving, it's a good bet that he's lying.

Well yeah. It's how it goes. It's either that or the JFK killshot movie from a new angle.

Me thinks you're confusing the "angry bird" with the "blobbernator".

angry bird == Christine O'Donnell, blobbernator == Chris Christie.

I think he pees himself whenever he hears word "Dallas". The dude went gray-haired in just a few years.
