Hello,

I have a Intel Core Duo processor and I consulted the kernel settings for it on the Gentoo Linux Wiki (http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Intel_Core).

There it is suggested that I should leave SMT (Hyperthreading) off, while cat /proc/cpuinfo gives me "ht".
My CPU(s) supports hyperthreading, so why should I leave this off?

Considering it also says to use "Pentium M" for the CPU type, it's probably safe to disregard that page as ancient and invalid.

Thanks for your response.

Talking about things being ancient and not 'up to date', could you please shine your light on the problem I described here:
