Thanks everybody.
Wanna know what is even creepier than this? Going to google, and seeing a birthday image as the homepage, with "happy birthday rich" as the alt-text. |

You just blew my mind. That happened to me last week and I assumed it was some kind of Google anniversary. 8O _________________ Your argument is invalid. |

BK - It is only a failure if I tried to protect it and wasn't successful.
D - what if your birthday shows up on FGO? |

No, this is one of the not-so-privacy-protecting John Brendlers around.

pffft... I'm not ashamed of my name, although I'd rather you didn't use it in this forum.
You, on the other hand, were pretty embarrassed about a certain, actually humiliating privacy slip-up of your own that I found about 10 minutes after the last time you did this. I thought you had learned something. Do you recall what I'm talking about, or do you need a reminder? _________________ Oldthinkers unbellyfeel INGSOC.

John Brendler, the decider of realities. Do you think I would spend half a second being embarrassed about clicking on "female" in a profile some online forum? What the fuck is wrong with you? I told you already you were on the wrong track there, buddy, that wasn't my account. And it would be 100% non-embarrassing even if it was mine.

If you weren't embarrassed, then why did you make up some lame excuse about having "turned that account over to some other person, but forgot to delete your IM account from the profile". Please.
At any rate, buddy, you're the one (not I) who outed yourself as some kind of pedo-transvestite chat forum pervert, through your own mismanagement of your profiles, and now, through announcing it here. Since you actually do care what people think of, you shouldn't have done that; you cut off your nose to spite your face.
More to the point though, your obsessive stalking and harassing behavior is antisocial and unhealthy. You could turn the personal dungeon in which you torment yourself into a better place simply by letting go and learning to see the good in people. I genuinely hope you are someday able to do that. _________________ Oldthinkers unbellyfeel INGSOC.

It was already apparent the last time we talked that you don't really have a good understanding of these things. Maybe you never will, you only got introduced to the internet as an adult. So it would be completely understandable if it remains an alien and confusing place to you.
You can not smear the "ichbinsisyphos" online identity, because it is a) removed from my real life identity (unless your name is Google and you have a lot of time on your hands) and b) it is simply not reputation-based. |

I've been using the Internet constantly almost since there was such a thing (around 1992), and have been involved with it professionally since about 1995. I have participated in its evolution, and it's neither alien nor confusing to me.
You smeared yourself. I don't care enough about seeing my name in here (care for a copy of my C.V.?) to cause you the kind of embarrassment you just impulsively inflicted upon yourself. I didn't mean to provoke that, and I'm sorry you did it. You can pretend you don't care what people in here think of you, but it's obviously untrue and you didn't fool anybody but yourself. _________________ Oldthinkers unbellyfeel INGSOC.

But what I'm talking about here can not be easily learned. A good example: remember when you made wildhorse a Spaniard? You simply can not live with this piece of information missing in the picture, you have to invent something to fill the void.
In the end you will always have to interpret your experiences with a mind originally adapted to the pre-information age world. And how the internet has by now subtly changed the way people interact is lost to you. |

Gen X based itself around the individual. Greed is good etc. Gen Y has already had more effect on the world with social media, and they're not even 30 years old yet.
