I wondered if anyone could assist me in solving this error. I am still very new in doing this, I was asked to unemerged the module-init-tools when I was doing emerge -avuDN world. But now I cannot have it installed back. Any suggestion please ??

I believe that sys-apps/{kmod,module-init-tools,modutils} have the same functionality (virtual/modutils),
so you don't need module-init-tools, when you have kmod, or vice versa.
