I am using KDE 4.8.5 on

Portage 2.1.11.9 (default/linux/x86/10.0/desktop/kde, gcc-4.5.3, glibc-2.15-r2, 3.3.8-gentoo i686)

I have set the screen saver to be activated after 5 minutes and I use:

System settings --> Hardware --> Display & Monitor --> Screen Saver --> Euphoria(GL)

Is my system changing graphics mode when the screen saver becomes active? I have a problem where my system freezes totally some 5 - 60 minutes after the screensaver has become active.

The same freeze occurs many times (but no all of the time) when I issue Leave --> Shutdown through the KDE Application Launcher Menu. In this process I belive that the graphics mode is changed also (?)
