I prefer the PF as I feel someone is dedicating his time combining/testing the patches for me.
I feel like that using the separate patches are more vulnerable overlapping/wrong patch order etc.
However this is purely subjective and pulled out of my *ss.

I have one more question to pf vs. "bfq ck ice ukms".
With 3.11.10 and 3.12.4 when I emerge with USE=pf I don't have UKSM in kernel config available?

and 2nd thing, I have ubuntu sqseue in GEEKSOURCES_PATCHING_ORDER but geek complaining about them?
Code:
 * Disable fixes --> no
 * Remove unneeded architectures --> no
 * Skip stable-queue --> yes
 * Use GEEKSOURCES_PATCHING_ORDER="fix pf optimization gentoo cjktty aufs brand bld bfq uksm ck ice upatch grsec pax lqx reiser4 rt exfat mageia fedora suse zfs zen sqseue squeue ubuntu rsbac rifs rh xenomai hardened openvz openwrt xenomai" from /etc/portage/kernel.conf
 * Not all USE flag present in GEEKSOURCES_PATCHING_ORDER from /etc/portage/kernel.conf
 * The following flags are missing: ubuntu sqseue
 * Probably that's the plan. In that case, never mind.

I can not answer the question of what exactly includes pf. The only question that is I can answer precisely it is from where taken pf patch in geek-sources. PF_SRC

About ubuntu:

Less than two weeks these {USE flags/eclasses} will be removed: geek-ubuntu.eclass, geek-xenomai.eclass

Now with this commit:

Removed {USE flags/eclasses} geek-ubuntu.eclass, geek-xenomai.eclass

About >>sqseue<<< … WTF is it?

There is no any sqseue there is only squeue

Hi again ;)
I've set optimization in /etc/portage/kernel.conf but on out put you can see: The following flags are missing: optimization optimize ???

Now there is no any optimization! Now there is only optimize.

layman/init6/eclass/geek-pf.eclass
layman/init6/eclass/geek-zen.eclass

caused by a github bug - issues #39 I fix only geek-ice.eclass and there is example how-to fix this crap and I have no desire and possibilities to fix all the rest.
I do not have free space to download all this shit. And besides, my laptop is almost dead… So if you need some crap from list above - fix this crap.

On the current release of geek sources, there seems to be an issue with the gentoo patches::

Code:
/var/tmp/portage/sys-kernel/geek-sources-3.13.3/temp/environment: line 905: cd: /var/tmp/portage/sys-kernel/geek-sources-3.13.3/temp/gentoo32315/3.13: No such file or directory

To all who has not working geek-sources with USE="gentoo" check manually:

Code:

cd /tmp
svn co svn://anonsvn.gentoo.org/linux-patches/genpatches-2.6/trunk

This ^ svn url get from… And stop asking question "why is not it working?"

I have that useflag enabled. Does not solve the problem described.
Also I don't see "why is not it working?" anywhere.
No need to be defensive, nobody is attacking you. Actually people help you by providing debug output and feedback. You are welcome.

A it was not a solution to this problem.

Code:
cd /tmp
svn co svn://anonsvn.gentoo.org/linux-patches/genpatches-2.6/trunk

This ^ tells you why USE="gentoo" in geek-sources not working. And this is not geek-sources bug. Similarly, as issue 39 is not geek-sources bugs or problem.

In this case, if for you do not work

Code:
cd /tmp
svn co svn://anonsvn.gentoo.org/linux-patches/genpatches-2.6/trunk

you need to ask gentoo what they did with this svn repo.

I do not need any feedback on these or these problems. You want to send a particular fixes? You're Welcome.

And yes For your reference geek-sources do not terminated by an internal error. Because even the inability to apply the patch is not an internal error.
Because if for such an error assume any problem with one of the hundreds of patches from a dozen sources then the work will never be done.

All somewhat differently when patches are not five grand but several hundred…

Thank you! I misread your earlier post as an solution instead of the culprit. I will apply the gentoo patches by hand for now then as that does seem to work.

I'm sorry that I could not predict the fault and for assuming you wanted feedback on this. I assumed this because I would like that. That is wrong reasoning so sorry.

I get this. I really like geek-sources as it tried to take a lot headaches away.

Is it safe to assume you do wan't feedback, but not here, but in the git repo?

A question.

I've been running the zen kernels for quite a while. Is the geek-sources pretty much the same thing?

TIA

Is is one of the many USE flags you can enable, thus one could say it is much more than that; for a full list, see https://github.com/init6/init_6/wiki/geek-sources

Anon, I am running geek-sources with USE="exfat gentoo ice uksm zen" and the zen-patchset runs through completely. So basically I have a Zen-Kernel with additional gentoo patchset, tuxonice, exfat and ultra kernel samepage merging.

<offtopic>In a two-hour by car from me going civil war. Fascist gangs kill unarmed people. People are arming all what they can. How many dead exactly, nobody knows. The official press called it all "anti-terrorist operation" and tells stories about the crowds of Russian spies. That is, if the center of Europe and the 21st century. Some half a year ago it would have looked like gibberish. And today it is just another ordinary day...</offtopic>

My hardware is almost dead and disk partition with gentoo (luks/lvm2) destroyed. And I do not have a full backup. Yes yes I know I'm a genius.

According to my plans, I was not going to change significantly in the sys-kernel/geek-sources until such time as the automatic selection of the patch version will not be ready for use. Now geek-solver_vercmp or versionator_version_compare now redy to use. Need only to get info about available patch versions. But further than that I have not yet moved. And in the current situation, I find it difficult to make any predictions. So if someone wants to finish this, I'm just happy.
