This may be of some interest to those of you, who use xfce and do not plan to use systemd in foreseeable (or even longer ) future:

I hope in case the patch is accepted systemd dependency will remain optional. |

Xfce upstream (and us at Gentoo downstream) are committed in keeping BSD supported. So much so that part of the Xfce developers are also various BSD developers.
And we picked up ConsoleKit after it was abandoned at upstream level too with the Debian maintainer:

So I'm not worried at all. Any support will just be an enchancement to the current situation. |
