Hey, everyone. I was just trying to unmerge freeamp (in favor of its new version, called Zinf now), but the unmerge seems to have some Issues. Has anyone seen this before?
Code:
root@arrakis:~# emerge unmerge freeamp

 media-sound/freeamp
    selected: 2.1.1-r1
   protected: none
     omitted: none

>>> Packages in red are slated for removal.
>>> Packages in green will not be removed.

>>> Waiting 5 seconds before starting unmerge.
>>> (Control-C to abort)...
>>> Unmerging in: 5 4 3 2 1 0
>>> Unmerging media-sound/freeamp-2.1.1-r1...

!!! ERROR: The ebuild did not complete successfully.
!!! Function set-kdedir, Line -1859, Exitcode 0
!!! kde-functions: Error: could set install prefix, consult log

!!! pkg_prerm() script failed; exiting.

If you have, any help would be appreciated. What exactly is the "log" the message alluded to? Thanks in advance!

I had a problem unmerging a version of Freeamp. Try something like
Code:
# emerge unmerge '=media/sound/freeamp-2.1.1-r1'
Or something similar. Do a 'man emerge' and look for the unmerge section.
Try some of the examples shown for emerging specific versions or multiple versions using > or <.

No, that didn't do anything different. I'm guessing that there's something funky in the ebuild somehow. I'll investigate more later; I'm really not at all familiar with "how" an unmerge happens. Oh, and thanks for the suggestion!
