Hi there,
i would like to install new NVIDIA drivers for my recent gentoo system. However, i dont know how. I already have the kernel nvidia settings switched on and my xserver starts properly i think. I downloaded
the neweset *.run file from nvidias website and put in sh *.run but it complained about some "missing kernel sources or misplaced kernel sources". Hence i switched on my old xserver.
Is there an emerge-way to install nvidia drivers? Can you help me with a detailed description how to update my drivers? Thanks a lot.

Or, perhaps more appropriately, set VIDEO_CARDS=nvidia in /etc/make.conf and re-emerge x11-base/xorg-drivers (i.e. 'emerge -1 x11-base/xorg-drivers'). |
