|

Hello everyone,
at one of my machines I use an old keyboard without the three "MS-Windows-Keys". The problem is now, that the AltGr Key doesn't work with this Keyboard (not on tty and not on X). That means, that i can't use keys like "µ" or like "{", "}" as well as "|", "@", "€". The rest of the keyset works well.
If I use a keyboard with the Windows-Keys everything works. And if i use the Gentoo-Live-CD everything works too, also with the non-Windows-Keys Keyboard.
I use the Keyboard-layout: "de-latin1"
What can I do, any ideas?
Best regards

Hi,
from the Gentoo-Live-CD, you can make a copy of the keyboard setup map on ttys with the command
Code: | dumpkeys -f > keyboard.map |
With Xorg:
Code: | xmodmap -pke > xkeyboard.map |
Both keymap files can then be used as the keyboard setup for virtuals consoles and X using loadkeys and xmodmap commands. _________________ Paul |

Hi,
you could try the keyboard layout "de-latin1-nodeadkeys"
(I needed this sometimes on a very old machine)
