Hey,
I'am experiencing trouble with some subtitle types.
This is very strange because SSA/ASS-subtitles are working, but mov_text not.
I "looked" in the files with ffmpeg -i
Code: |
#file A *.m4v subtitles are there but not shown
Stream #0:0(und): Video: h264 (High) (avc1 / 0x31637661), yuv420p, 1280x720 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 1013 kb/s, 23.97 fps, 23.98 tbr, 90k tbn, 180k tbc
Stream #0:1(und): Audio: aac (mp4a / 0x6134706D), 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 159 kb/s
Stream #0:2(und): Subtitle: mov_text (text / 0x74786574)
#file B *.mkv subtitles are there and shown
Stream #0:0: Video: h264 (High), yuv420p, 1280x720 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 23.81 fps, 23.98 tbr, 1k tbn, 180k tbc (default)
Stream #0:1(jpn): Audio: aac, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16 (default)
Stream #0:2: Subtitle: ssa (default)

After asking our great oracle google I think it is some apple-format for subtitles.
Neither VLC nor kplayer is able to show this type, but kplayer lists the subtitle stream.
My guess is either a USE-Flag is wrong or I'm missing a LIB.
Another Option is to convert the stream, but how and it's much work.
At last the flags for VLC and kplayer

And it's like I've said - there is a "strange" subtitle format I don't recognize... _________________ i'll fight untill the hell is freezing and then i'll start on ice..... |

Seems like you need 'Apple' to play that proprietary subs format. |

You are kidding?!? -> You mean I need a MAC? Seriously?
I thought it was already working some time ago - so I'm a bit confused.
For VLC there are USE-Flags like macosx, macosx-audio and so on, but they are in () and it seems I can't enable them. Why?
When I'm back I'll try totem, but my hopes arn't very high _________________ i'll fight untill the hell is freezing and then i'll start on ice..... |

I think not exactly MAC, but any of Apple products, because It's proprietary format. I didn't see any OpenSource working solution for that.
Don't forget, that Apple have to make profit on their products (just like Micro$oft), nothing else.

() around USE-flag means that it's not compatible with your system profile.
You can view and change profile by 'eselect profile ...' command.
Good luck. |

Sorry it shouldn't sound agressive - I was really suprised, because I could have sworn that it worked a view month ago...
Also totem failed me - maybe I've to convert the file, any ideas? _________________ i'll fight untill the hell is freezing and then i'll start on ice..... |
