When I read the elog mail after upgrading php from dev-lang/php-5.4.4 to dev-lang/php-5.4.5:
Code:
LOG: postinst
Make sure that PHP_TARGETS in /etc/make.conf includes php5-4 in order
to compile extensions for the 5.4 ABI

An "emerge --info php" gives
Code:
PHP_TARGETS="php5-3"
Because I do not have another slotted version of php installed at an unstable Gentoo system, I'm wondering why this isn't set per default.
