Gnome 3, What is happening?

i find gnome3 ok at best. i lost my gnubiff mail notification, was forced to use evolution instead of thunderbird, lost control over my "appearance themes" to skin everything black as i use the pc with lights off, and got aisle riot solitaire. i lost compiz. id like the fork mate and the other fork of gnome3 cinnamon desktop before having gnome3's goodies forced on me. it runs good, no lie, but id like to go into gnome2 also. it should of been a fork with another name like gnomemobile or gnometouch as it would make an excellent touch pad flip screen laptop os. comparable to windows 8

id say the bigest failure is loss of plugins like gnubiff and parcellite. once it failed to start on me and i use network manager to auto manage wifi for me, and had to go to xfce4 to get anything running again. if u use wifi and dont have access to your net any other way make sure you have xfce around for just incase instances of failure.
