Im updating my system and running into all kinds of issues with udev, blocks, libgweather, consolekit, etc.
Code: |
[blocks B ] <sys-fs/udev-171-r6[acl] ("<sys-fs/udev-171-r6[acl]" is blocking sys-auth/consolekit-0.4.5_p20120320)
[blocks B ] >=gnome-base/gnome-control-center-2.91.90 (">=gnome-base/gnome-control-center-2.91.90" is blocking gnome-base/gnome-settings-daemon-2.32.1-r2)
Total: 1131 packages (929 upgrades, 174 new, 22 in new slots, 6 reinstalls, 7 uninstalls), Size of downloads: 3,307,596 kB
Fetch Restriction: 2 packages (2 unsatisfied)
Conflict: 56 blocks
Fetch instructions for dev-java/sun-jre-bin-1.6.0.33:
* Due to Oracle no longer providing the distro-friendly DLJ bundles, the package
* has become fetch restricted again. Alternatives are switching to
* dev-java/icedtea-bin:6 or the source-based dev-java/icedtea:6
*
* Please download jre-6u33-linux-x64.bin from:
* http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre6-downloads-1637595.html
* and move it to /usr/portage/distfiles

!!! Multiple package instances within a single package slot have been pulled
!!! into the dependency graph, resulting in a slot conflict:
gnome-base/gnome-panel:0
(gnome-base/gnome-panel-2.32.1-r3::gentoo, installed) pulled in by
gnome-base/gnome-panel[bonobo] required by (xfce-extra/xfce4-xfapplet-plugin-0.1.0::gentoo, installed)
gnome-base/gnome-panel[bonobo] required by (gnome-extra/deskbar-applet-2.32.0::gentoo, installed)
(gnome-base/gnome-panel-3.2.1::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by
>=gnome-base/gnome-panel-3.2.1 required by (gnome-base/gnome-fallback-3.2.1::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge)
(and 2 more with the same problem)
dev-libs/libgweather:2
(dev-libs/libgweather-2.30.3::gentoo, installed) pulled in by
<dev-libs/libgweather-2.90.1:2 required by (gnome-base/gnome-panel-2.32.1-r3::gentoo, installed)

>=dev-libs/libgweather-2.91.0 required by (gnome-base/gnome-applets-3.4.1::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge)
(and 3 more with the same problem)
It may be possible to solve this problem by using package.mask to
prevent one of those packages from being selected. However, it is also
possible that conflicting dependencies exist such that they are
impossible to satisfy simultaneously. If such a conflict exists in
the dependencies of two different packages, then those packages can
not be installed simultaneously. You may want to try a larger value of
the --backtrack option, such as --backtrack=30, in order to see if
that will solve this conflict automatically.
For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man
page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

snakeo2,
No. Almost nothing works without udev, including booting.
Code: | "<sys-fs/udev-171-r6[acl]" is blocking sys-auth/consolekit-0.4.5_p20120320 |
Read that block message carefuly.
Trun off USE=acl on udev, then rebuild it. acl has moved to console kit but I'm not sure if its a USE flag or not. If it is, set USE=acl on consolekit.
Then (re)build console kit. Its probably a really bad idea to reboot in the middle of that.
If there is a later stable udev, you might want to update to that. _________________ Regards,
