My new laptop has an optimus graphics card, and
I am trying to find a good grub line for splashutils to work with an optimus graphics card.
After much trial and error, and internet searches, this is my almost working /boot/grub/menu.lst

I am wondering if anyone else out there has a good splash working.
Right now I see text leak though the silent splash image, and it stops on
Starting local
[ ok ]
But does not switch to my window manager login.
My particular system is a Thinpad T420.
