|
|
Hi,
I have installed Alan Wake via Steam successfully on my Gentoo Box with Wine 1.5.5 and the usual Winetricks VBRUN2008, DX9.
The games starts but it cannot be played because according to winehq a so-called Raw Input patch is missing.
I have two questions:
1.) Why do the wine ppl not include this patch in their offical reelease?
2.) How can I do the patching on gentoo?
thx |

this means you can put your patches in | Code: | | /etc/portage/patches/app-emulation/wine | and re-emerge wine to apply them. |

They probably think the patch has issues. And don't play Alan Wake
Sounds like a continuation of the mousewarp saga, which has taken an eternity itself. |

I have been looking for a wine 1.5.5 version of this patch. The wording of your post makes me hope that you found one.
If you did could you link me one here or just post the patch here?
Thank you in advance. |

I can not even start it. It gives me an error message on french. My niece is coming tomorrow and will translate it to me. May be the system is hacked. I don't know. What is strange is the fact it gives me some sites to look at, but they are on completely different topic. For example it gives me this search engine http://napred.bg/ where to look for the answer. The other is this site for Magento options - http://www.shopshark.it/ The other site is about business for home opportunity where is full with MLM adds. The last site which I was refereed too is about similar movies. The site is http://similarmovies.org/

I use Play-on-linux, there are wine-versions with the patch in there.
However, I encounter a strange problem:
Sound works in the game, but not in the intermediate movies;
This is annoying, since the story is supposed to be an important part in this game...

Slightly off topic, but I am on episode 3 of Alan Wake and it is more like punishment than fun. I think I am completely bored to death.
Am I doing something wrong and it should be fun?

I don't know, I didn't get that far: I guessed that without the trilling intermezzo's the game would indeed not be that much fun, so i gave up.
( just trying the game because Max Payne was fun) |
