I have ssh set up with public key (passwordless) access to my home system so I can look things up etc. while away with my laptop.
This worked well in my last job but here, access to the interwebs is firewalled and ssh doesn't get through.
However, http is allowed, albeit proxied, so I wonder if there is some way to set up a web page at home with ssh running inside something that looks like a terminal. Obviiously, this is going to have to emulate an 80x25 scrolling fixed-sized text window. Is there anything like that ? _________________ Michael Mounteney |

I get the impression you think the IT department isn't paying any attention to you. What if your lack of access is an indicator that they are? Ask your company's IT guy if you're allowed to access your home network and follow their recommendations.
As everybody knows, the port numbers that services run on were inscribed into stone by... Moses? in RFC666 and predator drones enforce any violations. Always consult with a priest working at the TSA before forwarding a port, evil spirits may rise from the grave and enter the souls of children otherwise. Don't say I didn't warn you. |
