my problem is that when i try to log in as the user i created, it only seems to load partially(for example sometimes where the date display and the volume icon ,etc dont show up), and when i try to execute an application i get this error msg, failed to fork child process(resource temporarily unavailable). However , when i log in as root, it loads everything. I already tried removing the user and adding it again with different privileges, but i get the same thing. |

| Have you try creating an user with a different name than the first? |

| yeah, already did, and i had the same problems upon logging in. the only account i can login as, is root, with no problems at all. Also, sometimes when i log in with another user, i only see the desktop background and my icons and thats it, the top and bot interface doesnt load. Is this an xorg problem? |

i start gnome with gdm, and i have followed the gentoo handbook as best as possible, with no problems until i try to login as another user instead of root. Right now when i login as my normal user, i only see the desktop icons, and the background, both the top and bot bars(applications, places, system, date, active desktops etc) don't show themselves. |
