Hi,
i just want to work with a VNC server on my Gentoo system. I want to run wine Application. I found out that x11vnc is not supporting wine application. If i use tightvnc as server it works, but is Java based. I now want to know, what i can use as a vnc server? Maybe someone got a good solution. I want to connect with SSH on the server and tunnel a port to the vnc server.
Thanks a lot.

| Maybe you should consider X forwarding via ssh. Or you could try FreeNX or vinagre. Depends on your setup. |

| Tightvnc is not Java based. There's a Java viewer, but that's it. The server is native, and there's a native viewer too. That said, tightvnc is ooooooold, I suggest Tigervnc instead. The version in portage has issues though, so use this: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410929 |
