kde plasma some shortcuts|effects not working, logs?

Hi. I recently did a complete system update, and some kde plasma keyboard shortcuts stopped working. Going back to the system settings and changing them also doesn't seem to help, so I can't determine if it's actually the shortcut capture or the feature itself that doesn't work. Seems to be related to kwin(?) features.

Not working after update:

* Highlighting mouse pointer, "track mouse", (show rotating marker around pointer)
Had it assigned to ctrl+meta and it showed some rotating graphics around the pointer.
Can't get it to work, even if I bind different hotkeys
System Settings > Desktop Behaviour > Desktop Effects > Track Mouse
System Settings > Shortcuts > Global Shortcuts > KWin

* Same with Zoom effects and Looking Glass.
* Same with mouse click effect

I can bind other keys, but I can't get it to work. But the keys generate output, so I can't determine if it's the keybindings or the effects that are not working.
Most other effects and shortcuts are working without problems.

After update I'm on:
kwin-5.9.5
khotkeys-5.9.5
plasma-5.34.0

My google-fu is weak, can't seem to find where the kde logs are stored(!).

I have the same issue with my global kwin shortcuts. I'll check my log files later.
