I was wondering what changes are in kde 4.8 compared to 4.7?
The only thing that bothers me in kde4.7 is that it takes quite a long time to get the menu and everything after I login. I don't know why it happens |

That depends on alot of factors such as how many packages you have installed, how many USE flags your system is using in general, how much RAM you have [KDE is a hog of a DE and will use as much RAM as it possibly can] and possible other factors as well. |

Sorry, but your answer does not have anything to do with the question.
And the general FUD that KDE uses a lot of RAM... semantic-desktop will increase memory usage, but you can disable it.
And what does the number of USE-Flags have to do with general upgrading or system performance?!?
