I installed Gentoo 12.1 DVD using the fast method (http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Install_LiveDVD_11.2_to_hard_disk_drive) and after restart I get a message: "Call to lnusertemp failed (temporary directories full?). Check your installation." and the system doesn't seem to react in any way to my mouse or keyboard (I tried both PS/2 and USB), so basically I can't do anything. What does this message mean and what can I do about it (and how - I'm a complete beginner with Gentoo)?
I have 3GHz Celeron, 2GB DDR1, Foxconn motherboard and ATA100 HDD with:
sda1 (primary, ext4) Back Track 5
sda2 (primary, ext4) Ultimate Edition OS Gamer
sda3 (primary, ext3, 12GB - 500MB free) Gentoo 12.1
sda5 (ext2) PC Linux
sda6 (ext4) Commodore OS
sda7 SWAP 1,5 GB |

MiHao,
Welcome to Gentoo.
Complete beginners should start ---> here
You don't have your Gentoo, you have likewohas end of March Gentoo.
Gentoo is not a binary distro and should not be installed like one.
Its a really bad idea to short cut the install process then try to pick up the pieces. _________________ Regards,

those that do backups
those that have never had a hard drive fail. |
