what's the command kde print settings execute?

when i open the system settings window, and click printers, it closes the window.

there's nothing in any log i can think off... maybe there's some information in stdout if i exec it from the console.

bump.

Code:
# emerge -pv kde-base/system-config-printer-kde

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R    ] kde-base/system-config-printer-kde-4.7.4  USE="(-aqua)" 0 kB

this is what i have installed.

Also, I failed trying to find out how to list package files... most hits are from <2004 and mentions tools that have long vanished. Do i have any luck with emerge for this?

back to printing, tried installing cupsd and starting it. still no luck, the system settings window just disappears when i click printing.

tried to run `systemsettings --nofork` from the command line, click printer it closes, nothing on the output

KDE guide pages about printing mentions nothing, just a recent rewrite of the whole printing systems.

OK, disregard all that... i didn't need any kde stuff to print.

just added the printer trhu cups via http://localhost:631
one thing the gentoo guide leaves out is to add your user to lpadmin group. better than typing root password in a browser...

added the network printer i have, and now it appears on the printing dialog for every qt/gtk app.

Reopening this one again.

i've noticed that in ALL kde applications + libreoffice, when i try to print i get:
- (libreoffice only) dialog about default printer not set
- settings for my only printer wrong (e.g. paper size is wrong)

on every other applications (firefox for example) default printer is OK and default settings are what i see in CUPS.

If I change the settings on the print dialog every time, it prints wonders. but i have to change it EVERY time.
did i miss something?
