What I mean is that extrapolating from this single exam question makes me think it is a boring, stultifying class. So the real question is, why are you taking it? _________________ Your argument is invalid. |

Because he couldn't find any 90s wide screen TV shows. Got bored and tried to alleviate boredom by taking a test. _________________ What looks like a cat, flies like a bat, brays like a donkey, and plays like a monkey? |

Because sometimes when studying, you NEED to take certain classes even if you don't like it? At least in Germany that is the case. _________________ Kali Ma

Because it's a requirement for a computer science degree. |

Spoiler (highlight with mouse to see): | Quote: | L1 == A^n1 B^n1 C^n2 == languages with a string of A's followed by the same number of B's as there are A's, followed by any number of C's
L2 == A^n1 B^n2 C^n2 == languages with some number of A's followed by a string of B's, followed by the same number of C's as thre are B's
For a string to be both in L1 and also in L2, it needs an equal number of A's, B's, and C's. A triple match on a stringlength count is not context-free. QED. |
Edit: Er, ignore me. Just noticed the previously-linked wikipedia page has this exact same example. |

Is this meant context-free ?
context-free language ... well... I would have failed answering...
And when I read BK's link... mentioning a context-free grammar... I was left even more
What is a grammar ? I mean apart from a set of rules dedicated to put things into context ?
OK then, in French, we use algébrique instead of context-free.
And, for me, a langage algébrique engendré par une grammaire algébrique makes far more sense than a context-free language generated by a context-free grammar.
Could'nt you have used algebraic language / algebraic grammar ?
IS there some subtlety I am missing somewhere, a reminiscence of some Chomsky / Schützenberger divergence ?
EDIT : OK, after browsing the other wikipedia languages, it seems we have the only one not naming this context-free.
Yet another cultural exception
OK then... :
Er, ignore this here and now. _________________ In theory there are no differences between theory and practice. In practice, there are.

Could always go the MBA route, or some other Masters, should it be "required" at some point. _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

He'll go back for a Masters, but let him get through this first and then give him a couple years to recover. The nice thing about grad school is that you can begin to specialize. The percentage of shit you have to study that you have no interest in whatsoever gets smaller. _________________ Oldthinkers unbellyfeel INGSOC.

Extraneous "do" I believe? (ah, never mind, major edit)
Also, before many can do, don't they first have to learn... from someone who teaches? Seems like one of those catch twenty-twos. _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

For anyone wondering what he is babbling about, I had said, "Get a Masters in Education; those who can't do teach," but then deleted it. _________________ Oldthinkers unbellyfeel INGSOC.
