I have: Code: | lspci -v | grep -i audio
00:11.5 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8233/A/8235/8237 AC97 Audio Controller (rev 60) |
kernel: Code: | cat .config |grep -I SND_VIA82XX
CONFIG_SND_VIA82XX=y
# CONFIG_SND_VIA82XX_MODEM is not set |
but running: "alsaconf" it doesn't detect any sound cards

Failing alsaconf usually indicates nothing.
Does 'lspci -k' shows that driver being in use ?
If so, does 'aplay </dev/urandom' produce noise ? |

Thanks, yes driver is being in use and I have a sound so I guess it is working and you are correct "alsaconf" not showing anything doesn't mean much. |
