I've noticed grub doesn't respond to the halt command on any of my Gentoo boxes when I hit "c" at the grub splash screen.

Bug? Did I do something wrong for ALL my machines?

Greetings,

For myself, when I want it to halt on the GRUB screen, I usually just hit an 'Arrow Up' or 'Arrow Down' key to stop the countdown.

Not sure why it won't go into the Command Line when you hit 'c'... When you hit 'e', what happens?

HTH. Let us know.

It does go to the command line. When I type "halt", though, nothing happens.

Okay,

Then what happens when you try:
Code:
> halt --no-apm

Same thing?

HTH. Let us know.
