boot process is broken when cdrom mount:
root block device()::
trying key doscsi, usbroot - no result ( aka /dev/sr0 not block device)
trying install minimum cd - also broken boot

Welcome to Gentoo.
It soulds like your hardware is too new for the DVD or the minimcalCD.
No matter, you can install Gentoo from any Linux you can get to boot, including another Linux install. None of the code from the boot media ends up in your Gentoo.
A firm favourite is SystemRescueCD. It works with the Gentoo handbook and has the advantage of providing A GUI and tools to allow you to fet to the forums and IRC while you install. _________________ Regards,
