|

I accidentally deleted some virtualbox disk image files on an XFS filesystem.
The VM is currently running but the disk files are not visible in the XFS filesystem, however, the underlying inodes are still available, as they are currently open.
VirtualBox manager shows the images are still ok but cannot clone them.
I expect that when I shut down the VM, the files will be really gone, so I won't be shutting down that VM for a little while.
These disk images are not that important to me but I was wondering if there is a way that I could recover these image files, before they disappear completely, more out of curiosity than anything. _________________ ...Lyall

those that do backups
those that have never had a hard drive fail. |
