|
|
I want to boot my G5 from an USB drive on a regular basis.
When I type this in the Open Firmware command prompt:
Code: |
boot /ht/pci@2/usb@b/disk@2:2,yaboot
|
everything works fine and yaboot starts as expected.
But I want the computer to do that automatically.
So I tried
Code: |
setenv boot-device /ht/pci@2/usb@b/disk@2:2,yaboot
|
and that does not work. I also tried some variations that worked from the command prompt, but none of them worked as "boot-device".
What is the correct value for boot-device in this case?

Ok, it seems it was a problem on the yaboot side.
Letting
set the variables and rewrite the bootloader did the job. |
