|

I have read that there is a kolor-manager settings plugin for KDE which enables you to specify ICC colour profiles. However, I do not seem to have it on my system. Is there an ebuild for it or are there specific USE flags I need to enable for it to appear in KDE settings? I have looked at /usr/portage/kde-base but there does not seem to be a separate ebuild for it...
The Git repository for kolor-manager is here: http://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kolor-manager.git&a=summary

Hi selig,
Kolor-manager is a GUI front end for "Oyranos".
AFAIK installing this only makes sense if you have a colorimeter to check your display.
And oyranos doesn't support all the meters on the market.
In kde's system settings you can set the monitor colors if that's what you are looking for.
Oyranos is not in the portage tree, only in the sunrise overlay.

If you just want to load a given profile, not creating your own, I'm personally very happy with xcalib(in portage). _________________ ++++++++++[>+++++++>++++++++++>+++>+<<<<-]>++.>+.+++++++..+++.>++.<<+++++++++++++++.>.+++.------.--------.>+.>. |

| Actually, xcalib seems to produce very weird results (tried on nvidia with proprietary drivers and intel 4500MHD with in-kernel drivers). I guess I will have to do with correct calibration only in graphics applications & Firefox. |

Check out media-gfx/argyllcms
You can load a profile with | Code: | | argyll-dispwin path/to/profile.icc |

Argyll gives me the following warning:
| Code: |
XRandR 1.2 is faulty - falling back to older extensions
|
And it gives exactly the same colour results as xcalib... do I need to specify the loaded modules in xorg.conf? I have the latest stable xorg-server and the following modules loaded: extmod, dbe, glx, record, dri, dri2, nvidia, fb, wfb, ramdac, evdev |

There's oyranos in portage tree and kolor-manager in kde overlay.
Now kolor-manager in portage as well. _________________ backend.cpp:92:2: warning: #warning TODO - this error message is about as useful as a cooling unit in the arctic |
