|
|
| Morning all! Decided to try out XFCE and loving it so far, but I have one problem. Nothing shows up on my desktop. Conky is running in terminal, but not there. No icons on my desktop either, but they are checked off to show up. I'm assuming this would be an easy fix, probably something that's not installed, or configured. When my terminal or whatever else I have running is minimized, they are there. Thanks in advance for any assistance! |

| Just waiting for compile to complete. I was installing a few other packages before hand, so I'm just now waiting for xfdesktop to complete. |

I have had the same problem. Is your Thunar compiled with the 'dbus' USE flag?

Do you see? It's little but success!
Do you have installed latest x11-themes/gtk-engines-xfce? |

For transparency this might help:
own_window_argb_visual yes
own_window_argb_value 0 _________________ Death by snoo-snoo! |

| What does it look like under Start-->Settings-->Desktop-->Icons? There should be something set for Icon type that appears on the desktop. Make sure it's not set to none. |
