digikam and broken libtiff link

What happened to libtiff? On my last world update on a laptop, digikam had a broken libtiff link. I had to cd into /usr/lib and ln -s libtiff.so.5.0.0 libtiff.so.3.

Or maybe the problem is digikam, not libtiff?

Don't ever make such symlinks. Might not cause an issue in this particular case, but it's still just a very, very bad hack that in other cases can cause crashes or make apps not start.

At 4,000+ posts and being here since 2005, I'm kinda surprised that you don't seem to be familiar with revdep-rebuild

Revdep doesn't seem to have fixed it. libtiff has gone from 3->4. That's possibly it?

For me it was caused by opencv requiring libtiff.so.3. Not sure why revdep didn't pick up on it, but rebuilding digikam pointed to the offending dependency and a rebuild of that has solved the problem.
