Hi,
I emerged VLC with the recommended USE flags from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-gentoo.html. The build process went successfully. But I cannot start it. Then I tried
| Code: | | vlc /path/to/my/video |
And a window is popup and the video is played. And I read on the official site that VLC can work without GUI. But I want the GUI. How can I get it back?

set USE="X qt4" you might also want to set kde or gnome, depending on your prefference.
I have the following flags set and I have a working GUI

with vlc 1.x it was also not working, thats why i merged the ~amd64. i did emerge -C vlc, rebuild it and run revdep-rebuild but all for nothing
any ideas ? "vlc" as command line works
