Good day,
I'm trying to emerge xbmc, but there is a problem.
| Code: | make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/media-tv/xbmc-10.1/work/xbmc-10.1/xbmc'
emake failed
* ERROR: media-tv/xbmc-10.1 failed (compile phase):
* emake failed
*
* Call stack:
* ebuild.sh, line 85: Called src_compile
* environment, line 5493: Called _eapi2_src_compile
* phase-helpers.sh, line 577: Called die
* The specific snippet of code:
* emake || die "emake failed"
*
* If you need support, post the output of 'emerge --info =media-tv/xbmc-10.1',
* the complete build log and the output of 'emerge -pqv =media-tv/xbmc-10.1'.
* The complete build log is located at '/var/tmp/portage/media-tv/xbmc-10.1/temp/build.log'.
* The ebuild environment file is located at '/var/tmp/portage/media-tv/xbmc-10.1/temp/environment'.
* S: '/var/tmp/portage/media-tv/xbmc-10.1/work/xbmc-10.1' |
I don't understand, where is the problem. Please help me.
Thank you. |

E_user,
The file /var/tmp/portage/media-tv/xbmc-10.1/temp/build.log would be very useful. The screen message tells that the build failed and where to find the gory detail.
Put that file on a pastenn site and tell us the URL. Make friends with wgetpaste, if you haven't already.
This thread may help as well as trying xbmc-9999 _________________ Regards,

E_user,
xbmc-10.1 tries to use libpng-1.4 thats a lost cause as Gentoo provides libpng-1.5 now.
xbmc-9999 is also brokern but for different reasons.
Your log was for xbmc-10.1, not xbmc-9999. Read the thread carefully. xbmc-9999 needs two user provided patches to build.
The thread tells where to get the files and where to install them on your system.
Also, which version of xbmc does tell you its going to install?
It needs to say xbmc-9999 _________________ Regards,
