@ pjp
You've never watched Jeremiah Johnson?
Jeremiah Johnson: [Jeremiah and Caleb find Del Gue buried to his neck in sand] Are you all right?
Del Gue: Sure, sure, I got a fine horse under me!
[sneezes]
Del Gue: Got one of them feathers in my nose.
Jeremiah Johnson: You keep sneezing, it'll come out all right. Haven't seen anyone pass by recent, have you?
Del Gue: Nobody's gone in front of me. Can't say what's happened behind me, though.
Jeremiah Johnson: The Injuns put you here?
Del Gue: T'weren't Mormons. _________________ I am not young enough to know everything.

Hmmm... it seems the Obama Administration has started saying that Iran is aiding Al Qaeda.

That's what Bush said about Iraq in order to justify attacking them, remember? Maybe we are in fact about to strike them (and the announcement is part of a deception plan as to the timing and where it's coming from). I can see Obama now doing that, given the ratings bump he has got from other military escapades. It's an election year, and about the only thing has worked for him is killing people.

*sigh*
I may be a "hawk", but come the fuck on.
There are plenty of legitimate reasons to go to war, there's no fucking reason to just make them the fuck up. Stop inventing shit, asshats. Nobody believes there's an AQ connection in Iran.
If the people wouldn't be supportive of kinetic action against Iran for the reasons we already have, you don't start wildly inventing a bunch of shit. You listen to the fucking people. |

I could have lived happily never hearing the phrase "kinetic action" again. Thanks, cach0rr0. _________________ I have gained this by philosophy: that I do without being commanded what others do only from fear of the law. |

Oh well the weaker easter-roman empire aka europe still lives on for a 1000 years as a part of a greater Islamic Caliphate. |

That won't be funny anymore, about 30 years from now.
Also, I would say Europe is a continuation of the Western Roman Empire, not the Eastern. _________________ Obama killed bin Laden like Nixon was the first man on the Moon. |

| So we have Western empire slowly dissolving, Caliphate stronger, Eastern trying to get stronger, 2.0 still has guns but owes money to Chinese Empire that says "fuck you guys, its our turn again". Where is Genghis Khan when you need him? |

Haven't several military missions received plenty of press and bluster beforehand these days? At the same time, imagine living in either of those places with an arbitrary three month attack window with overtones of nuclear annihilation.
Are people in Isreal and Iran allowed to leave at this point? When brinkmanship gets this stupid, the rest of the world could step up to evacuate people. Like knowing a massive tsunami is due in three months. |

Politicians are the most pragmatic people in the world.

They might but it's really just pandering. Pandering to the rubes. Politicians do it all the time. _________________ I have gained this by philosophy: that I do without being commanded what others do only from fear of the law. |
