It makes complete sense once you realize that Muhammad was a child raping murderer who thought that an angel was telling him GOD's will. We have many examples in modern history of such men, but this one scored an entire religion from his deranged rantings.

Soundtrack included!

Somebody should start a sect that goes after bankers instead of abortion doctors.
Isn't that the Democrat Party? Or is the banker requirement exclusive? They're anti-Israel too, so that should count for something.

which is it? they love bankers and shower them with bailout, or they hate them and raise their taxes?

I say the former.

Must say, nice place, small but nice, close to big cities when you need them.

It's splendid in the Summer and Fall. Lake Champlain is huge, and the Adirondack Park (biggest National Park in the U.S.) is beautiful and has over a hundred peaks to climb. The small cities (Plattsburgh and Burlington, Vermont across the lake) are nice communities.

I think the area is brutal in Winter and dismal in Early Spring, although the skiing is generally good. I've lived in several large cities, and sometimes I miss it, but a trip to one for a few weeks is usually enough to remind me why I left (unsanitary, traffic, crowds, noise, rude people, crime, no parking, government-run slums, etc.. I have a waterfall in my back yard. Hard to duplicate that in a large city.

Since one of Oblabla's first acts was to extend and expand the Faith Based Initiative Act, I think it is fair to say that you poor folks in the USA have been twice ass-fucked.

Far too few Christians understand this point.

yeah, it means: keep religion out of politics and follow blindly and obediently the dictator in command.

I worked at this company where it was completely OK to chose ANY religion as long as you had one. We were having lunch, and in the middle of it I got asked the question and I dropped the bomb where I said that I wasnt religious and "guess Im an atheist". Everybody went silent and uncomfortable, and I remember thinking "Ooook, time to get out of here"
That's what you reserve FSM for. Then start wearing your colander to work. Or you could really scare 'em and tell them you think God is a woman.

The bailout had little to do with the individuals, it had to do with the system.

Montreal has always seemed like a Catholic town to me. They've got more things named after saints than any place I've been.

Yeah they are bit over the top, tho I when trying to understand people living somewhere, I always imagine how it was before electricity and central heating. Imagine being stranded in Montreal in winter, couldn't be much fun. No wonder they build cathedrals every block or so, the people must be going mental. I was going mental waiting for a buss for 10 minutes, -34 C with wind chill.

I live an hour from Montreal.

So much for geographic theory, must be because they are french then :)
Upstate New York? I drove to Plattsburgh couple of times.

Then you drove within a mile of my house.
I love that area, used to spend summers up in the Adirondacks, near the Great Sacandaga Lake. Might be going near there soon one of these days.

Well the thing is, as long as you say that God is XYZ its not as shocking to them as what I did. At least you admit there is a God, but then you are misguided.

I actually said when they started pushing for it that we are made of same atoms as the table, or the coffee cup or sun, or anything. When I said that one of the older guys shuddered and actually said to me "you are insane".

Needless to say, it was short-lived business relationship, and it was mutual in the end. There was no middle ground, so I said in the end, OK fuck it.

I think I'd probably have ended the relationship right then with a comment about his intelligence. "I may be insane, but at least I'm not brain dead. I at least have hope." Assuming I was feeling diplomatic.

I just ended it with convinient excuse with enough plot holes to make them doubt my reasons. I mean whats the point lol.

I mean here we had bunch of uneducated biggots working as sales people, bragging how they screwed over people, but taking themselve so seriously that they moralize me for "not having faith". It would be hillarious if I didnt actually need the job, but I mean its their company, if I didn't fit in, I didn't. I just laughed.

Wish I had this vid to put it nicely: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAvDtPz33w0&feature=g-vrec&context=G2c0669aRVAAAAAAAAAQ
