I have try installing Gentoo on my laptop CQ57, I have a desktop computer with Gentoo and I want Gentoo for my laptop too. When I compile I get errors all the time so I gave up and I installed ARCH-Linux and it worked without any problems.
When I start installing Gentoo it goes very fast in chroot environment but after reboot it don´t goes very fast. I think that I forgot something in kernel that are loaded with the minimal install CD.
All USE flags that I have in my desktop computer I wan´t it on my laptop too. The processor are E-350 ATI Radeon HD6310 and sound are hda-intel.
Can I compile the whole system in CHROOT or should I just install the basic without anything in the USE and add my USE after first reboot?

is the best method. less time, less confusion, fewer emerge problems. when rebooted to CLI next priority is network connection
