I just installed portage-utils after a major upgrade (230+ packages) and it gives weird results for qdepends:
Code: | # qdepends -a www-servers/apache-2.2.21-r1
* DEPEND
depends: i'm such a fatty, could not eat_file((null)) with 65536 bytes
* RDEPEND
depends: i'm such a fatty, could not eat_file((null)) with 65536 bytes
* PDEPEND
depends: i'm such a fatty, could not eat_file((null)) with 65536 bytes

equery depends works fine.
any pointers on how to find what's wrong? TIA
edit:
rebooted the box and it goes now so I won't investigate further. |

Hmm, qdepends -aQ <pkg> used to print all reverse dependencies, but now it prints the similar message, fatty thingy.
Now it does not require -a, so
$ qdepends -Q <pkg>
is all I need. I alias it to the name "needer". _________________ Hack of easy Shift / Ctrl / AltGr etc; save your pinkies, type without drudgery: topic 865313
