problem emerging portage-3.0.1 ebuild [solved]

Dear All,

I am running gentoo testing on an amd64 kaveri box.

I tried to install portage version 3.0.1.

I managed to do it on the FX box I have but it doesn't seem to work on this one.

It wants to install the 2.3. version instead.

It says it can't find the 3.0.1 version to begin emerging it..........

But it is there.

I did

=sys-apps/portage-3.0.1 may have testing dependencies.
Your --autounmask-write '=sys-apps/portage-3.0.1' does what it says, unmasks sys-apps/portage-3.0.1.
It does nothing for any other packages.

If you need other testing packages, I've not checked, they need to be unmasked too.

I synced to the gentoo respository and got an instruction to install a portage update.......

It was the 3.0.1 version.

I ran the
