Hello,
I'm a happy Gentoo user for several years now, mainly on an AMD64 system. I had a Pegasos 2 for several years, too, and using Gentoo on it was no problem, although it felt terribly slow. I'd sold this Pegasos 2 board in favour of a Powermac G4.
Now I got a Pegasos 1 very cheaply, and I'd like to setup a Gentoo environment on it. I'd used my Gentoo installation on the Powermac G4 to compile a CHRP compliant kernel, but this doesn't start, after a few OF messages the kernel hangs. My question is now, if there are any kernel parameters to get a vanilla 2.6 (or even 3.0) kernel working on the Pegasos 1? Back in 2005, I had a Debian installation with a 2.6.2x kernel. But it should be possible to get a kernel compiled by myself. |

Thanks for your reply. I'll test the CRUX PPC kernel, and I hope to get some satisfying results. |
