Hello, world.
I want to emerge xvba-video, but portage tries to pull in ati-drivers. I had to install my own fglrx from the ati website because the version in portage dropped support for my card (radeon hd 4250).
/etc/portage/package.provided:
Code: |
x11-drivers/ati-drivers
|
Code: |
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:
Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild N ] x11-drivers/ati-drivers-12.6 USE="modules -debug (-multilib) -pax_kernel -qt4 -static-libs" 0 kB
[ebuild N ] x11-libs/xvba-video-0.8.0 57 kB
Total: 2 packages (2 new), Size of downloads: 57 kB

How can I prevent portage from trying to install ati-drivers when I emerge something that depends on it?
Thanks! |

raidzero,
package.provided has to go in /etc/portage/profile, and it has to specify a version number as well. |
