I'm trying to go easy on my eyes. is there a way to make X display no colors.. ie black and white and grey? |

I'm not sure if X Will do a 2 color display, you can try though, just make sure there are video modes listed for Depth 2 and set your DefaultDepth to 2.
I don't have an example for you soryr, I'm at work right now on the Worst NT4 System ever. |

i did that my friend. X complained that "Given depth (2) is not supported by r128 driver".
I've seen it working on Mac. there must be a way to do it in linux. |

maybe the Driver for the Mac supported it, but your r128 driver doesn't. I Think you can tell X to use a generic driver, like vesa or vga or something. but i can't really help you there, as I've never done it. |
