Well, if the daemon is already running, there's no reason to run it again.
And what exactly "to allow gnome-volume-control to use connection" should mean ? |

okej pulseaudio is running .and you have set the :
pcm.!default {
type pulse
}
ctl.!default {
type pulse
}
in asoundrc
i am using kde so for me to use pulseaudio,i had to set it in kde settings.
and set the pulseaudio useflag in make.conf.the only thing that dont use pulseaudio
on my system is flashplayer.and i am using pavumeter to handle the sound setup.
type:
speaker-test -Dsurround51 -c6 -twav
do you hear something |

REmaxer
yes pulseaudio is up running,you have to select
the pulseaudio server output to get sound but you have
some alsa problem(your sound test did not work) so first
fix alsa.I am my way to work now but I get back after that. |
