Its apparent that my NVRAM is dead in my IPX. Doing some googling and what not, i stumbed on a newsgroup post about this place. They will send out *FREE* samples of their chips. The post was a bit dated, but I went to the site, and sure enough, they still give out samples. So if you every needed a new NVRAM, go here. www.maxim-ic.com
As long as you choose standard shipping, there is no charge. BTW, the post I read, was from a lad in Australia, so they DO ship internationally.

I had to check my mail, I got the DS1742. I found an old article saying that the older version (ds1642) would fail post, but still somehow work. Apparently the DS1742 is the replacement. As of today, I havent gotten them yet. But hey, they're free right?

Ill post back when i get it, and have it installed.

I got my chips today, two of them. Will get one plugged in and tested tomorrow night.

Hi,

The is a problem with the going to the "samples" section (http://www.maxim-ic.com/samplescart.cfm) . Apparently a duplicate key entry. I've notified the webmasters to rectify the matter.

Maybe it could be your browser? Which one were you using? I know it works in IE, and Opera, but Mozilla and Netscape gave me errors.

I was using IE at the time. It was a server side error.
