Season four opens this Sunday. No better show on television, in my opinion.

After reading the wikipedia summary, it doesn't sound all that compelling. Is there anything particular, or just in general?

A wiki summary hardly does it justice. You need to watch it. Personally I was hooked from the first scene of the first episode. If you have time, it is easily interesting enough to watch two or three episodes per day. If you start watching now, I'm sure you can be caught up in a week or two.

Someone needs to make a pjp-bot:

PJP-BOT: <Topic-X> doesn't sound very interesting to me. Is there something in particular that makes it interesting?

Heh. I'm just wondering how many wiki summaries of anything sound all that compelling.

Presumably if someone posts "I like X," they're expecting some kind of discussion about X.

Some kind, yes. To be specific, the kind where people watch the show and then talk about it. Not the kind where I have to explain why I like the show to someone who was only willing to go so far as spending ten seconds to read a twenty-five word summary on wiki. You need to make more of an effort than that to show good faith. At least watch a couple of episodes, right? I mean, you wouldn't even know who I was talking about when I mention characters on the show.

I don't have cable, so watching episodes is a bit difficult. Thanks for your time.

"Breaking Bad" is the best show on television right now. Period. If you're not watching it right now, you are sorely missing out on one of the most superiorly crafted and written programs of all time. One episode, and I guarantee that you'll stop saying that there's nothing good on cable TV.

Quote:
But, don't just take my word for it. There's a reason why "Breaking Bad" is currently one of the most searched for terms on Google right now. [...] Check out these five reasons to watch the show

Quote:
1. It stars Bryan Cranston, the quirky father from "Malcolm in the Middle,"
2. Law students can take a page out of Saul Goodman's book.
3. Someone went to the trouble of creating an awesome bingo came that you can play while watching the show.
4. Aziz Ansari is telling you to watch it.
5. You don't have anything better to do on a Sunday anyway.
lol

OK, 1 & 2 could be reasons. But 3 - 5 are nothing more than "Oh, shit! I said five and there are really only two."

Let's put it this way: If you are worried that the show is going to disappoint after the monumental third season, you can stop worrying. Wow.

When someone posts "I like X", they want to engage in a discussion about the details of X, not a discussion of why liking X should be valid in the first place to someone who has no idea what X even is.

Wow, really?

Almost everyone I've ever met who has gone to see a movie and has been asked "what did you like about it" had no problems answering. Including those who thought the previews didn't look good.

Maybe the different is the internets layer.

So... after three episodes, what's your opinions? For me, personally, the second episode was slow and pretty sleepy (even the beating part). The latest was better. Seems like they building the story slowly without any sharp moves (unlike the previous season). Still, the best show around.

I've watched seasons 1+2 of Breaking Bad. And it's not, no pun intended, that bad. I must say that Dexter and Fringe is my favourites. Fringe has the first spot.

And I have to agree, Breaking Bad lost some tempo in season 2. Not THAT much though. I cannot see it evolove so much more. A little like Prison, more of the same.
Maybe it can evolve to a new scarface? 8O

LOL, I'm talking about season 4  you really need to watch the third one, they've done some amazing work there.

Do'nt quote me on this, but I will do so in time anyways, since it is a good show. :) Thanks for the headsup!

Season 3 is when it moved from good to great. And yeah, it's basically Scarface.

As much as I crave more of the Heisenberg/Gus/Mike/Cartel storyline, I like how they are spending time with the supporting cast. I especially like what they are doing with Hank and Marie. Marie's relapse is an excellent move and very believable. Jesse obviously has it worse than anyone on the show but it is difficult to believe he sunk so low so quickly. I am sorry to see Skyler being drawn into Walt's world but at least it makes her more interesting and less bitchy ("I fucked Ted," remember that?)
