So what's the worst beer ever? There are some worse. Pabst Blue Ribbon comes to mind.

Tasmanian beer is so bad that it doesn't work as snail bait. All other brews work.

Red Ruth (bad about 2% tastes like piddle), Fosters, Castlemaine

Yeah, all brand name Australian lagers are crappy almost without exception, and the watery beer that gets branded Fosters in the UK is very different from the beer here. It's just as awful though.

For the worst I've ever had... that is hard to say. Toss up between Singha & PBR... with Orion coming close.

Can't remember the name, but it was supposed to be some kind of Bananabread-flavored beer.

Thinking about it, I don't really know what would qualify as a "bad" beer. I think the worst you can do is try to appease everyone and end up with a beer that noone has reason to hate and overall is just "meh".

I like the taste of lager, stout, bitter and ale. Dutch lager, Guinness and probably a local Fremantle ale is good.

A bad beer is one that doesn't taste like beer. That includes all these fey flavoured beers and various processes used to make beer bland for mass consumption.

No body, insipid - fizzy water. If stuck with bad lager and no alternative, my dad always loaded his
pint with lime

Some rauchbiers smell more like ham than hops. I don't recall the brand, but one example of that style would be the least enjoyable beer I have tried.

So that's why there's Bud Light Lime. You don't even have to add the lime yourself!

Come to think of it, I did have a rather I'll fated Bell's Java stout once. That is the only 6 pack that I've ever shared with the motivation of just getting rid of them.

For your information, so are beers made in any spanish speaking countries.

American microbrews are very good. Microbrewing is big in the states, much bigger than in any European country except Beligum.

Beligan beer is the best :P

well, if you call that fruity stuff 'beer'.

The worst I ever had was a German contraption called Radler. It's a lemonade/beer mixture, so I don't know if that qualifies it for this thread.

The worst I've had that's actually sold as beer is Heineken. I can't stand the stuff. I rather drink the cheap stuff we have here (under the great name Best Bier), than that. Right now I'm trying a Hertog Jan Oerblond.

First of all, I don't count light beers and hefeweizen as beer, because the first is water and the latter gives me a splitting headache.

Having said that, the worst beer ever made is Tuborg Gold.

I think Heineken is a decent beer. Let's put it this way: it's better than most of the other beers you can find almost anywhere (such as filling station convenience stores). It has the propensity to go skunky, though, if not stored at the proper temperature.

Then you have to qualify what's a "beer"?

In my opinion, the variety of different styles(some of which might not be what you call "taste like beer") of beers is excellent.

Tuborg Gold is supposed to be beer, but it's more like contaminated motor oil. :P

Haven't sampled that, I have tried (however) indulged in a variety of Beers inc RedRuth and I do believe some of St Austells - all have been weak and severely under hopped.

have you tried Marston's ? Their IPA and Double Drop are especially nice (IMHO) -

I should say that tribute is hoppy, but not hoppy like an IPA.

My flavour of the month are brew dog beers (from edinburgh). You can get them in London. The 5am saint is a nice hoppy one. Floral notes,

Floral notes in beer. Sounds gay to me. I bet they wouldn't allow that in German beer.

Also, I wish people would stop making pumpkin pie flavored "beer" each Autumn. It tastes like shit.

Skunkification comes from it being struck by light. Green bottles always bad. Get it in a can.
